Our client contacted us following an accident at work where she suffered burns to her feet. Our client only contacted some 18 months following the accident. The claim was complicated by her former employers subsequently going out of business, and their insurers failing to respond to our presentation of the claim.

In spite of these complications, we robustly pursued the insurers and secured a full admission of liability. We arranged an appointment with a Plastic Surgeon who reported that, although the scars had healed well, some permanent skin discolouration remained. We also arranged a psychological examination which recommended treatment to help recovery from what was a deeply distressing incident.

Following negotiations we secured a settlement in excess of £20,000 to cover the injuries, the psychological assistance, and an allowance for the increased costs of skincare products for life. Even with the relatively late instruction, we managed to achieve this settlement without the need for court proceedings.
