In 2022 our client was in the front room of his modestly sized cottage when a car driven by a drunken driver. Although the third-party insurers paid for the damage to the house, they refused to make offers for his psychological symptoms.

Our client instructed us to take over conduct of his claim and we obtained supportive medical evidence confirming that he suffered a recognised psychiatric illness as a result of being in fear of harm.

Still, however, the insurers refused to settle our client’s claim, Court proceedings were issued and, on the day of the trial, the insurers accepted our previous settlement offer in full.
