In early 2023 our client contacted following a road traffic accident which caused unusual injuries. Her vehicle was struck with considerable force by a refuse lorry causing part of the metalwork of her own car to penetrate her leg. This wound became infected and a necrotic ulcer was diagnosed.
We obtained a prompt admission of liability, along with funding for treatment and reimbursement of private medical expenses which had previously been incurred.
We arranged an examination with a Consultant who confirmed that our client, who was in her 70’s, had made a good functional recovery, but had been left with significant scarring to the lower leg.
After extensive, but swift negotiations, we secured an out of court settlement of £35,000, and within less than a year of our instruction.
